How to finish Digital SAT Reading & Writing with 8 minutes to spare.
Every question on the Digital SAT has its own short 25-to-150-word passage. By starting at Question 15 (Grammar & Notes) and coming back to Reading, you bank easy points fast.
The 5-step Digital SAT Reading & Writing 750+ system
Use the "Two-Pass Module Strategy" (Start at Question ~15)
Questions 15–27 test Standard English Conventions, Transitions, and Rhetorical Synthesis (Student Notes)—which take 25 seconds each. Bank all 13 of those points first, then return to Questions 1–14 (Words in Context & Reading Comprehension) with zero time pressure.
Master the 4 Boundary Punctuation Rules
Period = Semicolon = Comma + FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so) = links two Independent Clauses. A comma alone between two independent clauses is ALWAYS a comma splice (wrong!). A colon (:) requires a complete sentence BEFORE it.
Solve "Rhetorical Synthesis" (Bullet Notes) without reading the bullets first
On the last 2–3 questions of each module, read ONLY the final question goal ("The student wants to emphasize a difference between X and Y"). Eliminate the 3 choices that don't accomplish that exact goal in 15 seconds.
Cover the choices on "Words in Context" and Transitions
Before looking at A, B, C, or D, read the passage, find the logical hinge (contrast, cause-and-effect, or continuation), and write your own prediction word.
Eliminate choices with "One Rotten Word" on Command of Evidence
On hard Module 2 inference and graph questions, 3 choices will fail because of a single trap: Too Extreme ("always/never"), Half-Right/Half-Wrong, or Out-of-Scope Comparison.
High-ROI Digital SAT Reading & Writing drills with AI
Punctuation & Dangling Modifiers
Spot subject-modifier mismatches right after an introductory comma.
Logical Transitions Categorization
Group transitions into Contrast (However/Nevertheless), Cause (Consequently), and Addition (Moreover).
Quantitative Command of Evidence
Match claims to data tables and bar graphs without falling for misread axes.
Hard Module 2 Logic Inference
Break dense scientific and literary passages down into 3-line argument maps.
If two choices are exact grammar equivalents (e.g., a period vs. a semicolon), BOTH are wrong
When two answer choices are identical except that one uses a period and the other uses a semicolon (with proper capitalization), the College Board cannot make one right and the other wrong—cross both out immediately!
