Eat That Frog Priority Rule
Your 'frog' is the hardest, most important assignment you are most likely to procrastinate on. Do it first thing in your study session before checking email, organizing folders, or doing easy busywork.
Your brain's willpower and focus peak at the start of your session. Knocking out the hardest task first makes the rest of the day feel effortless.
You spend two hours answering easy emails and color-coding syllabus dates, then run out of mental energy before touching the hard problem set.
- Night before: Write down the single most important assignment for tomorrow on a sticky note.
- Open only that assignment when you sit down at your desk—zero warm-up busywork.
- Work on your 'frog' for at least one focused 25-minute block before touching anything else.
